Repeats Settings

Are repeat settings per zone or per program?

Section titled “Are repeat settings per zone or per program?”

Per zone. Repeat settings only apply to the individual zone they are configured on. They do not propagate to other zones or affect program-level behaviour.

A repeat can only trigger once all sprinkler commands for the zone have been processed — never mid-cycle. After that point, either the repeat fires immediately (basic repeat or elapsed interval) or waits for the X-hour window to pass.

Does “Limit Repeats To” mean the total number of cycles?

Section titled “Does “Limit Repeats To” mean the total number of cycles?”

No. It is the number of repeats, not the total run count. If you set Limit Repeats To = 2, you get:

Count
Initial run1
Repeats2
Total cycles3

Does “Repeat Every X Hours” add a delay after the last sprinkler finishes?

Section titled “Does “Repeat Every X Hours” add a delay after the last sprinkler finishes?”

No. It measures time from when the zone started — not from when the last sprinkler finished.

What happens if my sprinklers take longer than the X-hour interval?

Section titled “What happens if my sprinklers take longer than the X-hour interval?”

The repeat fires immediately once all sprinklers complete. Since the interval has already elapsed by then, it behaves exactly as if no interval was set. Always ensure total sprinkler runtime is less than the repeat interval.

How do I set up a zone to run at the same time every day?

Section titled “How do I set up a zone to run at the same time every day?”
  1. Set Repeat Every X Hours to 24.
  2. Start (or schedule) the program at your desired start time.
  3. Make sure all sprinklers can complete their run within 24 hours.

The zone will repeat every 24 hours from that moment.

What if I set Repeat Every X Hours to a value less than my sprinkler runtime?

Section titled “What if I set Repeat Every X Hours to a value less than my sprinkler runtime?”

The interval becomes meaningless. Since the repeat can never trigger mid-cycle, it will always wait until the last sprinkler finishes, then repeat immediately — equivalent to a plain repeat with no interval.

Restart after test modeYesYes

Does the “Limit Repeats To” counter reset when I restart the program?

Section titled “Does the “Limit Repeats To” counter reset when I restart the program?”

Yes — a full restart (not a resume from pause) treats it as a brand new schedule and resets the repeat counter to zero.

If I put a zone into test mode and then restart it, does the repeat interval reset?

Section titled “If I put a zone into test mode and then restart it, does the repeat interval reset?”

Yes. The repeat interval is calculated from the zone’s start time. Restarting the zone after test mode sets a new start time, so that zone will fall out of sync with others that started at the original program time.

Can I pause the program and resume without resetting repeats?

Section titled “Can I pause the program and resume without resetting repeats?”

Yes. A resume from pause preserves the repeat state. Only a full restart resets the counter.

I want a zone to run 3 times total and then stop. What do I set?

Section titled “I want a zone to run 3 times total and then stop. What do I set?”

Enable Repeat, and set Limit Repeats To = 2. The zone runs once initially, then repeats twice — 3 total runs.

I have multiple zones and want them all to repeat at exactly the same time each day. How?

Section titled “I have multiple zones and want them all to repeat at exactly the same time each day. How?”
  1. Set Repeat Every X Hours = 24 on each zone.
  2. Start all zones at approximately the same time (note the ~2-minute offset per zone).
  3. Ensure every zone’s sprinklers complete within 24 hours.

My zone takes 36 hours to run through all sprinklers. I set Repeat Every X Hours to 24. What happens?

Section titled “My zone takes 36 hours to run through all sprinklers. I set Repeat Every X Hours to 24. What happens?”

Since the sprinklers take longer than the interval, the 24-hour mark passes before the cycle finishes. The repeat fires immediately once all sprinklers complete (after 36 hours), not at the 24-hour mark. The interval setting has no practical effect in this case.
