Troubleshooting Guide

If your Loncel device is not behaving as expected, follow these general troubleshooting steps.

If a device appears “Offline” on the Loncel Cloud dashboard:

  1. Check Power: Ensure the device has power.
  2. Check Signal LEDs: Observe the status LEDs on the device.
    • Green: Connected.
    • Red: Disconnected.
  3. Inspect Antennas: Ensure all antennas (LTE, 915MHz) are securely tightened and have a clear line-of-sight if applicable.
  4. Reboot: Power cycle the device by disconnecting the power for 10 seconds and reconnecting.

If your RMU or Gateway is reading 0mA for a sensor:

  1. Check Wiring: Verify the sensor is wired correctly to the terminal blocks.
  2. Measure Loop Current: Use a multimeter to verify if the sensor is actually outputting a current.
  3. verify Power: Ensure the 4-20mA loop has the required excitation voltage (usually provided by the RMU or an external supply).

If a WVC-GS Valve Radio is not triggering a solenoid:

  1. Manual Override: Try to trigger the valve manually via the Loncel Cloud interface to rule out scheduling issues.
  2. Check Solenoid: Inspect the wiring to the latching solenoid. Ensure the solenoid is a DC latching type compatible with the radio output.
  3. Check Signal Strength: Verify the radio has a strong link to the Base or Repeater radio.

If you cannot resolve the issue, please contact Loncel Support with the following info:

  • Device Serial Number (found on the label).
  • A description of the status LEDs.
  • Site location and any recent weather events or power outages.
